60 Days Prayer & Fasting: Goshen (Health & Safety) - Day 36
Matthew 8:16-17
Hebrews 1:1-3
New King James Version
1 God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets,
2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;
3 who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high
The Bible calls Jesus the express image of the person of God, he is the complete image of God. If you’ve seen Jesus you’ve seen God himself. Therefore it is safe to say that whatever Jesus did is what God did, what was important to Jesus was important to God and what is the reputation of Jesus, is the reputation of God.
Looking through the life of Jesus in scripture you would notice that every sick that came to Jesus never left with their ailment. Jesus was willing and ready to heal every sick that encountered him.
Matthew 8:16-17
New King James Version
16 When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick,
17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses.”
Matthew 8:14-15
New King James Version
14 Now when Jesus had come into Peter’s house, He saw his wife’s mother lying sick with a fever.
15 So He touched her hand, and the fever left her. And she arose and served them.
Anywhere Jesus encountered and infirmity, it was healed. For the Bible to say that He healed “all” who were sick, it means that in that particular region there were no sick among them! Imagine that in a city or a region, none were sick because the Lord had healed them all.
Even in Goshen when boils and sores ravaged the land, when pestilence killed all the livestock, what did the Bible say about God’s people:
Exodus 9:6
New King James Version
6 So the Lord did this thing on the next day, and all the livestock of Egypt died; but of the livestock of the children of Israel, not one died.
Exodus 8:22
New King James Version
22 And in that day I will set apart the land of Goshen, in which My people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there, in order that you may know that I am the Lord in the midst of the land.
Goshen was free of plague because that was the dwelling of God’s people.
III John 1:2
New King James Version
2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
It is God’s will for you to be in health, if Jesus healed every sick that came to him it means that God also wants the sick healed. Sickness is not the will of God for any of his people. When we pray for the sick it’s not a thing of probability, but we are enforcing what we know is His will. So even as we pray for the sick, we are doing so in expectation of a great avalanche of healings!
