60 Days Prayer & Fasting: Priorities of God (Purpose) Day 29
2 Corinthians 5:20
In this fasting season, the Lord is drawing our attention to purpose, His purpose. We live in a world where people chase after achievements, possessions, and personal dreams, but Scripture reminds us that our purpose here on earth is to know Christ and to make Him known.
When the Lord spoke to Jeremiah, He declared:
Jeremiah 1:5
New King James Version
5 Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.
This means Jeremiah’s assignment was not a reaction to his abilities or circumstances; it was a divine decision before time. The same is true for us as believers. We were created intentionally for the purpose which God has given us.
Esther’s story also reminds us that divine purpose is never random. Mordecai said to her:
Esther 4:14
New King James Version
14 For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?
Purpose is never self-centered. Esther wore her crown not for personal honor but for the preservation of God’s people. This teaches us that purpose is always tied to God’s agenda in a season. In the same way, God has positioned The Catalyst Church in this generation, not by chance, but for the fulfillment of His plans in this world.
And when we look at Christ, we see purpose in its purest form. His entire life was lived with the consciousness of the Father’s will.
Paul writes:
Galatians 4:4
New King James Version
4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law.
Jesus was sent on divine assignment to save humanity. His purpose was clear, and He embraced it fully, even to the cross.
This is what fasting does for us. It quiets the noise and sharpens our vision so that we can live with the same intentionality. We are not here to drift or merely survive; we are here to glorify God, to reconcile men to Him, and to walk in the good works He prepared beforehand.
This fasting season is a Kairos moment for us as a church. It is not just about individual breakthroughs but about aligning with the heart of God for The Catalyst Church to rise as a people of purpose in this generation.
When we embrace God’s purpose, everything changes.
In as much as it is important that we are ambitious, we must understand that our careers are not our purpose but rather are vehicles to spread the Gospel. We must proclaim the Gospel boldly and it must show in our everyday lives, as Scripture declares:
2 Corinthians 5:20
New King James Version
20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.
This is the believer’s purpose. To live as Christ’s representative on the earth, bringing others into His kingdom.
In this fasting season, let the Lord remind you that your life has divine meaning. Every gift, every opportunity, every placement carries purpose. And when you embrace His purpose, you will find the fulfillment, clarity, and joy your heart has been searching for all along.
Prayer Point
Father, I thank You that my life is not random. Thank You for creating me with divine purpose and placing me in this generation for such a time as this.
As I fast, give me clarity of what You are doing in my life and in The Catalyst Church. Sharpen my discernment to recognize Your times and seasons. Align my heart with Your priorities, and let my life bring glory to Your name.
