60 Days Prayer & Fasting: Supernatural Leadership (Day 19)
Psalm 32:8
Have you ever tried to tune an old radio? You twist the dial and hear only static and noise. But then, with the right adjustment, the frequency locks in and the sound comes through crystal clear.
Note: it’s not that the person on the radio stopped speaking but you weren’t just tuned in on the right frequency.
Now this can be likened to how the Spirit of God works with us. He is always speaking, always leading, always guiding. But the noise of life, busyness, distractions, and even our own thoughts can drown him out.
Seasons of fasting and prayer are a protocol in the spirit that God has given us to fine-tune our hearts, sharpening our sensitivity to His nudges and His voice. Because God is always speaking!
In this season of fasting and prayer, God desires to bring us to a place of spiritual clarity where we are never stranded, confused, or misguided. This is the advantage we have in Him by His Spirit.
He wants to lead us. He wants to guide our every move.
When we talk about supernatural leadership, it’s not something we have to beg for or strive for; it’s for us.
Psalm 32:8
New King James Version
8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye
The psalmist is communicating God’s will to his people, and God says, I will instruct you and the way you should go. I will guide you. So divine leadership is not just a prayer we pray or something we desire, but it’s something God wants to give us.
James 1:5-6
New King James Version
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.
So God can give wisdom. To as many as want it, the Lord can give and not just give but, the apostle says he gives liberally and without reproach. This is the character of God.
Ephesians 3:14-19
New King James Version
14 For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
15 from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man,
17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height
19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Many of us disqualify ourselves from God’s leadership because of our shortcomings, sins, or other issues, but the Word of God lets us know otherwise. One thing we must understand is that comprehension of many spiritual things becomes easier when we are rooted in Christ’s love
There is a level of comprehension of spiritual things that cannot happen until you are grounded in the love of God. Until you understand what the love of God really is.
Paul prayed for the church in Ephesus and by extension us that we would be rooted in love, strengthened by the Spirit, and filled with God’s fullness. His love must be the lens through which we interpret His guidance.
A loving God would want to lead his children, even despite our shortcomings.
We see examples in scripture where God spoke to even unbelievers.
Genesis 41:15-16
New King James Version
15 And Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I have had a dream, and there is no one who can interpret it. But I have heard it said of you that you can understand a dream, to interpret it.”
16 So Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, “It is not in me; God will give Pharaoh an answer of peace.”
God gave Pharaoh a dream about what he was going to do in the future. This was not a believer, nor was he even a Jew. This is a pagan king receiving a direct message from God on what God intends to do. And not just this, if you ever feel like God can’t speak to you, well, God spoke to sinners:
Genesis 3:9
New King James Version
9 Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?”
This is after Adam and Eve had sinned against God. God came to look for them in the garden. He called out to them and they heard him.
God spoke to murderers
Genesis 4:9
New King James Version
9 Then the LORD said to Cain, “Where is Abel your brother?” He said, “I do not know. Am I my brother’s keeper?”
God spoke to Cain after he had just killed his brother Abel. Not only did God speak to him, but even when Cain complained about the fatality of the punishment he was given, God still preserved his life!
And there are many other examples like this. When Gideon doubted, God still spoke to him and gave him many confirmations. When Jonah was disobedient, God still redirected his steps. The lesson is this, even when you feel the most unworthy, God still wants to lead you, if he could do so for unbelievers, how much more you who house his spirit.
I want you to understand and believe in your heart that God is more willing to lead you than you are willing to be led.
God wants you to be conscious and confident of the fact that He can lead you and He wants to lead you. It is the life of every believer, God is always speaking, He’s always leading and in this season and beyond, you will see it at work in your life, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
You don’t have to be an elder or a leader in the church or an apostle for the lord to lead you
Acts 21:8-9
New King James Version
8 On the next day, we who were Paul’s companions departed and came to Caesarea, and entered the house of Philip the evangelist, who was one of the seven, and stayed with him.
9 Now this man had four virgin daughters who prophesied.
These were not apostles or pastors or elders, and yet they prophesied. That is, they were able to hear from God. Supernatural leadership is not reserved for “spiritual elites” or those who have been in the faith longer. It is God’s will for every believer.
So shift your focus from striving to hear, doubting your ability, and fear of missing His leading to trusting His willingness and ability to speak to you and His unfailing love. This way, you can begin to walk naturally in supernatural leadership.
God is more willing to lead you than you are willing to be led. His Spirit is within you, His Word is before you, and His love surrounds you. When you yield to that reality, supernatural leadership becomes less of a struggle, but your everyday experience as a child of God.
Prayer point
Father, in this season of fasting and prayer, sharpen my sensitivity to Your leadings. I declare that in this season and beyond, I walk and live naturally in supernatural leadership available to me in You.
