60 Days Prayer & Fasting: Supernatural Leadership (Natural Life & Career) Day 23
Psalms 37:23
Imagine driving through an unfamiliar city without a map or GPS. At first, you may rely on instinct, road signs, or advice from strangers. But without guidance, it’s easy to get lost, take wrong turns, or waste precious time. Now picture having a GPS that not only knows the streets but also foresees traffic, roadblocks, and even accidents ahead. With such guidance, your journey becomes clearer, smoother, and more purposeful.
This can be likened to supernatural leadership in our natural lives and careers. Left to ourselves, we may achieve some success, but we risk detours, delays, and frustrations. Yet, when God leads us by His Spirit, He directs us toward His perfect plan, guiding us in both spiritual matters and everyday decisions like career choices, relationships, and business ventures.
Proverbs 3:5-6
New King James Version
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
Notice it says, “in all your ways.” That includes your studies, your jobs, your businesses, your finances and even your health. God’s interest in leading you isn’t limited; it encompasses Monday mornings at the office, Tuesday meetings, and every decision that shapes your future. As much as He wants you to prosper in ministry, He also wants you to prosper in your daily natural engagements.
Genesis 24:12
New King James Version
12 Then he said, “O Lord God of my master Abraham, please give me success this day, and show kindness to my master Abraham.
This servant was tasked with the responsibility of finding a wife for Issac by Abraham and he prayed to God to grant him success in this assignment and God answered. This shows us that God delights in guiding us even in what we may consider “ordinary” life decisions. So don’t limit God in your mind. There’s no decision too small or too natural for God to guide.
Acts 13:2-3
New King James Version
2 As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”
3 Then, having fasted and prayed, and laid hands on them, they sent them away.
They consecrated themselves and then God gave a clear instruction and direction. In the same way, in this season of consecration, as you dedicate yourself to these 60 days of fasting and prayer, you are positioning yourself to hear God more clearly concerning your natural life and career. Therefore, whatever may have seemed confusing becomes clear and all that has been hidden will be revealed. In Jesus name. Amen!
Luke 5:5
New King James Version
5 But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.”
Peter had toiled all night, casting his net multiple times but couldn’t catch anything but at the word of Jesus, he casted his net and the result was an overwhelming catch of fish.
This story lets you know that human effort, apart from God’s leading, can yield frustration. Yet one word of instruction from the Lord can turn futility into fruitfulness.
Perhaps in your careers, you are in that season where you’ve been “toiling all night”, submitting countless applications, pitching business ideas, or pursuing growth without results. In these 60 days fast, as you position yourself for divine direction, as the word of the lord comes to you, every aspect of your natural life where you have struggled and toiled, it doesn’t matter how long, you begin to see results.
One of the marks of a Spirit-led life is clarity. In a world where everything around you seem to be fighting for your attention, it is easy to get lost and consumed by your ambition, cultural or societal pressure and fear. You must learn to discern God’s voice and leading, that though a thing may seem good, it is not necessarily God’s plan for your life.
Many people pursue careers without knowing if they are aligned with their God-given assignment. But as you consecrate yourself in this season, you will receive clarity on the what, the when, the who, the where in your career and with no doubt know that it is God’s plan for you.
Psalms 31:15
New King James Version
15 My times are in Your hand; Deliver me from the hand of my enemies, And from those who persecute me.
In context, David was in distress, his life was in danger, and he was in weakness, but even in such a situation as that, he was able to say, “My times are in Your hand”.
The Hebrew word times here is ‘êth’, which means appointed time, season, moment, or occasion. So, David was saying, “All the seasons and turning points of my life are under the sovereign care and authority of God’s hand.”
Many times, in our natural lives, when things don’t seem to be going according to our plans, we tend to get impatient which often lead to frustration and compromise. You may want immediate success, recognition or breakthrough, but you need to understand that God’s leadership is not rushed. Prayer molds our hearts to trust God’s timing. And just as David eventually reigned in God’s appointed time, we too will see His promises fulfilled if we remain yielded.
Psalms 37:23
New King James Version
23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way.
Supernatural leadership is the believer’s reality in God. Through this season of 60 days of fasting and prayer, don’t just merely abstain from food; rather, position yourself to hear God’s voice more clearly in every detail concerning natural life and career.
God wants to lead you, not only in ministry but in every aspect of your life, so you have that job, the business, build that career that won’t take your attention from Him but would be a vehicle through which you live out His purpose for your life.
So, as you fast and pray in this season, seek His voice, trust His timing, and watch Him order your steps into His perfect plan.
Prayer Point
Father, as I consecrate myself in this season, let order be birthed in my natural life and career. In the areas where I’ve been crawling, I begin to walk. Where I’ve been walking, I begin to run. Where I’ve been running, I begin to fly. Let there be proof that I am indeed led by You.
