Over the past three days, we established that Charisma is part of your identity as a believer, you are instructed to desire spiritual gifts with intentionality, and the supply is already in you. The Holy Spirit is already living inside you, and everything He carries came with Him when He came.

Today, we come to the part that brings everything together. The gifts were never designed to stay contained within you. They were meant to be revealed. They were given to function in the open, in the world, in the spaces where people are hurting and searching and far from God. There is a function to the charismatic that goes beyond the believer entirely, and until you understand this, you will continue to treat the gifts as something personal rather than something purposeful.

John 20:31
New King James Version‬‬
31 But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.

John wrote this at the close of his gospel, after spending twenty chapters recording the signs and miracles Jesus performed throughout His ministry. The miracles were pointers. The word used throughout John’s gospel for these miracles simply means a sign, something that exists to direct attention toward a greater reality. Every miracle Jesus performed was pointing somewhere. It was pointing to who He was and what He had come to do.

This is the lens through which you must understand everything the Spirit has placed in you. Everything you carry is a sign. A word of knowledge, a healing, a prophecy are all pointers to the same reality, that Jesus is alive, that He is real, that He is not a historical figure sealed in the pages of a book but an active, present, living Lord who moves in the affairs of people today. When the gifts flow through you, you are not putting on a display. You are giving people evidence. You are giving them a sign that confirms the message you carry.

This should change the way you see every encounter you have. The colleague who is quietly falling apart. The neighbour who has tried everything and is running out of options. The stranger in a waiting room who looks like they are carrying the world on their shoulders. You are not standing near them by accident.

Mark 16:20
New King James Version
‬‬20
And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs.

After Jesus gave the Great Commission, the disciples went out and did exactly what He said. They preached everywhere. And as they preached, something happened. The Lord confirmed the word through accompanying signs. The word used here for confirming means to make firm, to establish, to put weight behind something. The disciples spoke, and God added weight to what they said through the signs that followed.

This is a partnership. You carry the message, and you step out in the gifts, and God backs it up. He confirms what you say. You go out, and God works with you and through you!

Have you ever shared the gospel with someone and felt like your words were landing, but something was still not breaking through? Have you ever sat with someone in a moment of crisis and genuinely wished you had more to offer? The charismatic gifts exist precisely for those moments. An accurate word of knowledge in the middle of a conversation does something that logic alone cannot do. It tells a person that God sees them, that He knows the specific details of their specific life, and that He cares enough to speak directly to where they are. That word opens a door. And when that door opens, the message of the gospel walks right in.

Healing works the same way. When someone witnesses the healing power of God, it is not just their body that changes. Something shifts in them spiritually. Ears that were closed open. A heart that was set against God begins to consider the possibility that He is real and that He is good. Prophecy reaches into places that are unreachable by natural means. It speaks directly to what is happening inside a person and turns something that was locked shut.

There are those who have misused the gifts, who have manipulated people under the cover of the charismatic. This is real, and it has done damage. But a counterfeit exists because the genuine is valuable. The existence of those who have abused the gifts is not a reason to abandon yours. It is a reason to carry them with integrity, with humility, and with a heart that is genuinely after people’s freedom rather than your own recognition.

Mark 16:17
New King James Version‬‬
17 And these signs will follow those who believe…

Signs follow those who believe. This is a statement about you! Wherever a believer goes, there is potential for the power of God to be made manifest. Your workplace carries that potential. Your home carries it. The street you walk down, the bus you take, the shop you walk into. You bring something into every room you enter, and that something is alive and active and ready to move the moment you are willing to be used.

Stop treating the gifts as something reserved for a Sunday service or a special prayer meeting. They were never meant to be contained to a building or a programme. They are meant to follow you into every space you occupy because every space you occupy contains people who need what you carry. The gifts are most powerful precisely in the places where people least expect God to show up, in ordinary moments, in everyday conversations, in the middle of an ordinary week.

So go with this! Go into this week knowing that you are not just a person with a job and a routine. You are a believer in whom the Spirit of God lives, and everywhere you go, signs can follow! A word at the right moment can redirect a life. A prayer over someone can set in motion something that changes their entire story. Prophecy spoken in boldness can bring hope to someone who was on the edge of giving up entirely.

Do not carry what you have been given lightly. The weight of it should move you. Everything the Spirit has deposited in you was designed for moments like the ones you will walk into this week. Everywhere you go, let signs follow!

Prayer Point
Father, I thank You that the gifts of Your Spirit in me are not just for my own benefit but for the benefit of everyone I encounter. Teach me to see every gift as a sign pointing people to Jesus. Make me sensitive to Your prompting in everyday situations.
