Preach The Word 5
Mark 16:15
Imagine you were sick and needed urgent medical care but couldn’t afford it. Then your uncle decided to sell all he had to pick up the bill. Hence because of one man’s sacrifice, you did not lose your life. If this uncle ever needs you to do something for him, you will do it. Even if you don’t feel like it, because of the length he went to ensure you lived, you are more inclined to do anything for him.
Ephesians 2:1-3
New King James Version
1 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins,
2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience,
3 among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.
Apostle Paul in this verse explains perfectly the state of mankind before salvation. Before we got saved, we were dead in sin and our whole life was leading to death. The Bible referred to us as children of wrath and the wages of sin is death. Meaning that the due reward for your life of sin is death.
Ephesians 2:4-8
New King James Version
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,
5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
But God in His mercy and because of His great love for us saved us and made us alive by the sacrifice of Christ. We are where we are today by the grace of Christ. It is even more intriguing to think that after all God did in Christ, after all he suffered and endured, all we have to do to be partakers of salvation is simply to believe. Believe in the sacrifice of Jesus.
John 3:16
New King James Version
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
This is the greatest gift, the greatest show of love known to man. Because of all that Christ has done, you have access to the creator of the universe. You can call God Father because you belong to his family. This is something to constantly rejoice over. Death and sin have no hold over you.
2 Corinthians 5:15
New King James Version
15 and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.”
Rewind to the first paragraph of this devotional and see that God is the one who sacrificed all of himself for you. He gave up his son so that you may have life and that life you now live, you live for him. Meaning you live for God’s purpose, His desires, and His will. Fortunately, the bible is clear about what the utmost desire of God is.
1 Timothy 2:3-4
New King James Version
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,
4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
If indeed, you live according to the desires of God and God desires that all men be saved, it means that all we do as believers must be to fulfill this desire. This desire of God must trump ours. The will of God that all men be saved must become primary. It becomes paramount to you that all men come to the knowledge of the truth just like it is to your Father.
Mark 16:15
New King James Version
15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
We have been given the responsibility as believers to preach the gospel and get people saved. The fact that the Bible is replete with the instruction to preach the gospel shows that it is very important and must be taken as such. Wherever you are, you must preach the gospel, you have been given that assignment.
2 Corinthians 5:18-19
New King James Version
18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation,
19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.
We’ve all been given the ministry of reconciliation. That is, we have all been charged to reconcile men back to God. Now we may not all be called to be pastors or to start a church but we’ve all been called to one way or another spread the good news about Jesus to every soul. You must use every platform and medium to preach the gospel
Romans 10:14-15
New King James Version
14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!”
People won’t hear unless you preach it. In as much as your lifestyle can display the love of God and be an example to people of how God can change a man’s life, the gospel is still a message to be preached. You have to tell it! There are several avenues available to us to spread the message, especially considering the times we are in. Social media platforms offer a broad channel for the spread of the gospel far and wide.
You have the assignment to take the gospel to the uttermost parts of the earth but the internet has made it easy to reach many people at the same time. In your place of work or at school, preach the gospel and share the good news of the love of Christ with your friends and colleagues.
Social Media is a tool that is capable of reaching millions of people at the same time. Make good use of it. You can post videos, write sound articles start conversations. Don’t be scared to make use of the media to push the gospel.
Learn to support Christian content. The more you support, the more people the gospel can reach. We can reach thousands of people at once so we must put this to our advantage. We have the whole world to take. Remember, the bible says our Father desires that all men, not some or a few but all men be saved.
Prayer Point:
I declare that from now on I take advantage of every medium I have to preach the gospel of Jesus. I am bold in my pursuit of souls and many men are saved on my account!
