What To Do After a Camp Meeting: Running with Prophecies

We just finished a powerful camp meeting, and throughout this week, we have been learning what to do after such an encounter with God. You’ve learned about setting structures for continuity, praying over all you have received, and being careful not to overcompensate.
Today, we focus on a crucial next step: running with the prophecies and instructions you’ve received.

Every special meeting is not just an event; it is a divine appointment marked by divine instructions and prophecies; you have visions where God shows you your role to play in His grand plan. These words are not meant to be heard and forgotten, but to be acted upon. God’s word is a blueprint, a direction, a strategy for your next phase. It is not for admiration, but for execution. The question is: What will you do with what you have received?

Every runner in a relay race knows that it is not enough to receive the baton, the race only counts when the baton is carried to the finish line. Imagine an athlete who receives the baton, stands still, and does nothing. No matter how strong or fast they are, the team will lose.

That’s how it is with the prophecies and instructions you receive. They are like the baton handed to the runner. You are not meant to stop at just hearing or admiring them; rather, you are to run with them until they are fully fulfilled. Just because you received a word of prophecy does not mean that it will happen automatically. Yes, indeed God’s word is sure, but you have a role to play. Prophecies are divine invitations to partner with God’s will on earth. They demand your response through faith, obedience, and action.

Habakkuk 2:2
New King James Version
2 Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.

To run with prophecy means to take deliberate, faith-filled steps toward the things God has spoken over your life.
Running with prophecy starts with believing what God has said. You cannot act on a word you do not believe. Prophecy is God revealing His mind and plan concerning you. When you receive a word, the first thing to do is to internalize this word, meditate on it until it becomes real in your spirit.

II Samuel 7:17-18
New King James Version
17 According to all these words and according to all this vision, so Nathan spoke to David.

18 Then King David went in and sat before the Lord; and he said: “Who am I, O Lord God? And what is my house, that You have brought me this far?

David had just received a word about what God wanted to do with his lineage and his immediate response was to go and sit before the Lord. That is the posture of a man who is ready to walk in step with God. Beyond just getting excited over prophetic words, you must learn to sit with God, to give thanks, and to brood over those words until they take root in your spirit.
Even as you go about your daily life, let those prophecies stay at the forefront of your mind, keep them in remembrance, write them on the tablet of your heart, repeat them over and over again, picture them coming to pass, and conceive them in your spirit until you see them physically.

Another thing you must do is to obey. Once you have believed and prayed over the word, you must begin to act.

James 1:22
New King James Version
22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”

The Bible has warned about just hearing and not taking action. Many believers deceive themselves by thinking that hearing the word alone is enough. They feel stirred during a meeting, they write down the instructions in their notebooks, but they never take any steps. It is action, not mere hearing, that triggers the fulfilment of a prophecy. If God gave you an instruction to start, stop or change something, you must do it. Delayed obedience is still disobedience.

Acting on prophecy will also require boldness. The things God has asked you to do may seem beyond your capacity or your resources. Think of Abraham, who was asked to sacrifice Isaac, the very son God promised him. He didn’t have all the details, but he obeyed. Running with prophecy is often uncomfortable, but it is in that obedience that you see the supernatural hand of God.

Timing is another critical factor in running and acting on prophecies.

Ecclesiastes 3:1
New King James Version
1 To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven

It is not just about doing what God said, but doing it when He said it, because prophecies are time-bound. Some words require immediate action, while others need preparation and patience. This is why prayer remains vital even after you receive a prophecy. You pray to discern the timing and the strategy for execution. Just as the disciples in Acts 1 were instructed to wait until they were endued with power from on high, some instructions require you to wait before moving. Knowing the difference is key.

Finally, wage war with prophecy.
This is what Paul reminded Timothy of in 1 Timothy 1:18.

1 Timothy 1:18
New King James Version
18 This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare

Every time you pray over what God has said, you are aligning your spirit and circumstances with heaven’s agenda. Waging warfare with prophecy means staying on that word in prayer until you see it come to pass. You declare it over your life, make plans in line with it, and refuse to be distracted by what you see. As you give yourself to prayer over those words, you establish God’s will over your life, stir up faith, build strength, and receive even more instruction.

Prophecies are not mere words to be taken lightly. Every special meeting leaves you with divine blueprints for the next chapter of your life. The question is: Will you run with them?
Don’t let the words you received at camp meeting gather dust in your journal. Take them seriously. Believe them. Pray over them. Most importantly, act on them.

Prayer Point
Lord, I thank You for every word, prophecy, and instruction I have received. I refuse to be a hearer only. I receive grace to believe, pray, and act on every word You have spoken. Give me boldness to step out, wisdom to discern timing, and persistence to stay aligned with Your will. Let every prophecy over my life come alive through my obedience and faith.
