‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭15‬ ‭
New King James Version
15 and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.

Paul says that since Christ died for all, those who live no longer live for themselves. We were all bought with a very high price, and the life we now live is unto God and his purpose. Our lives are no longer our own. He then goes ahead to say

2 Corinthians 5:18
New King James Version
18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.

Paul reminds us that God has not only reconciled us to Himself but has also entrusted us with the ministry of reconciliation. Every believer is called to this ministry, not just those who stand on pulpits or carry titles. The moment you received the life of Christ; this responsibility was bestowed upon you.

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28‬:‭19‬-‭20‬ ‭
New King James Version
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen.

It is every believer’s job to reveal Christ: to serve as God’s ambassadors on the earth. We’ve been charged with the responsibility of making disciples of all the nations. Meaning that we ought to have the national view when thinking about fulfilling God’s mandate. But how do we carry out such a divine task? How can we possibly embark on such a huge task?

‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭
New King James Version
5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God,

6 who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

Paul says that our sufficiency is not of ourselves, but it is from God. He is the one who helps us to be able ministers. We can’t possibly, by our own wisdom or our own logic, or our own strength, carry out God’s assignment successfully. Ministry in any capacity cannot be done outside of the leadership of God Himself.

Just as a compass points to the north, helping travelers stay oriented in unfamiliar territory, the Holy Spirit directs believers in the vast journey of life and especially in ministry. He does not leave us to guess God’s will or stumble into opportunities. Instead, He leads us with clarity, beyond what our senses or reasoning can provide.

From the beginning, one of the ways God has chosen to guide His people is by His Spirit through prophetic utterance. He rarely acts without revealing His intent. Prophecy is one of the clearest expressions of divine leadership. When it comes to ministry assignments, God has a track record of showing his people the way.

He can show you who to work with:
Acts 13:2
New King James Version
2 As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”

As the church prayed, the Spirit said, “Separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” In that time, they knew instantly that Paul was to go out with Barnabas by the leading of the Spirit. Ministry assignments were not by mere planning and strategy but by divine instruction.

He can show you where to go:
Acts 16:6-10
New King James Version
6 Now when they had gone through Phrygia and the region of Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia.

7 After they had come to Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit did not permit them.

8 So passing by Mysia, they came down to Troas.

9 And a vision appeared to Paul in the night. A man of Macedonia stood and pleaded with him, saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.”

10 Now after he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go to Macedonia, concluding that the Lord had called us to preach the gospel to them.

The Spirit forbade them from preaching in Asia at that time. Soon after, the vision of the Macedonian man provided clear direction on where to go. After that vision, they concluded that the Lord was sending them to preach in Macedonia. Outside the Holy Spirit’s guidance, they could have been at the wrong place at the wrong time

He can tell you what to say:
Luke‬ ‭12‬:‭11‬-‭12‬ ‭
New King James Version
11 Now when they bring you to the synagogues and magistrates and authorities, do not worry about how or what you should answer, or what you should say.

12 For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.

Jesus told his disciples that in the very hour when they need it, the Holy Spirit can give them the right words to say!

Ministry is done by the spirit; that’s the only way one can succeed in it. And, fortunately for us, the Lord desires to lead us. He wants to show us who to work with, where to preach, what to say to yield great results.

In this season and beyond, let the Spirit guide you in your service to him, open your heart to God’s instruction concerning your ministry.

We must learn to cultivate sensitivity and discernment. The Spirit’s guidance can be gentle: a nudge, an impression, a word in prayer. By spending time in worship, prayer, and meditating on Scripture, we sharpen our ears to hear and our hearts to obey. The Spirit within us is a well of wisdom that we are always free to draw from.

When we ignore His leading, we risk frustration, wasted effort, and even burnout in ministry. But when we yield, our steps align with heaven’s plan, and our labor produces fruit that remains.

At times, following the Spirit may feel like walking blindfolded. He may lead us into places that don’t make sense to the natural mind; however, having faith means trusting the leadings of God even when we don’t see the full map.

Hebrews 11:8
New King James Version
8 By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.

Abraham “went out, not knowing where he was going”, yet by trusting God’s leading, he became the father of nations.
In the same way, even today, ministry requires faith in the Spirit’s leading. You may not understand every step, but you can be sure the Spirit never misleads.

In this season, I urge you to commit to being Spirit-led ministers. Not ministers of your own will or wisdom, but vessels guided moment by moment by the Spirit of God. In Him, you will find all you need to be an effective minister of the gospel.

Prayer Point
Father, in this season, as I yield to the leading of the Spirit, I see growth in my ministry. In any way I may have slacked in the past, by Your mercy, let there be a restoration and correction.
