60 Days Prayer & Fasting: Thanksgiving (Day 60)
Colossians 2:6-7
Hallelujah!
We have come to the sixtieth day. Sixty days of prayer, fasting, and fellowship.
Sixty days of the Word; sixty days of surrender and heightened discernment.
Sixty days of being shaped, strengthened, and taught by the Spirit.
It’s important you know that this does not just mark the end of a season but the beginning of a stronger one. For God, who started with us on day one, has brought us to this point to launch us into more.
And today, we are going to consciously thank Him. It is how we acknowledge that everything accomplished was not by might or power but by His Spirit.
Psalm 92:1-2
New King James Version
1 It is good to give thanks to the Lord,
And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High;
2 To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning,
And Your faithfulness every night.
It is good to give thanks! It is fitting for hearts that have been helped. Over these sixty days, we have learned to hear God’s voice, to discern His leading, to yield to His Word, and to walk in step with His Spirit. We have learned that intimacy is sustained through consistency and that fasting is not just a denial of food but a devotion of our hearts.
In the first days, we saw that prayer was not a ritual but communion; that fasting was not punishment but alignment.
We have been taught to build altars of fellowship, to stir up the gift of God within us, to meditate on His Word, to live consecrated and sensitive to His Spirit.
Psalm 103:1-5
New King James Version
1 Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits:
3 Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases,
4 Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,
5 Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
Thanksgiving is a way to reflect and remember. It is a way of calling to mind the mercies of God and blessing Him for them.
For in this time, He has renewed our strength like the eagle, just as He promised.
He has healed the weary heart and awakened hunger for His presence like never before.
He has done what no man could do and transformed us from the inside out.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
New King James Version
16 Rejoice always,
17 pray without ceasing,
18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
Thanksgiving is the will of God!
We give thanks not only for what is visible but also for what has been planted in us.
You must understand that many things the Lord has begun in these sixty days will continue to unfold in our lives over the next couple of months and years. And so don’t just limit your thanks to the manifestations of now but also for the things that have been settled for the future.
Colossians 2:6-7
New King James Version
6 As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,
7 rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.
We have received much from the Lord, and now we are called to walk in it, rooted, built up, and abounding with thanksgiving. Gratitude is how we remain aware of what He has done and confident of what He will still do. It is the right posture for what is next.
Luke 17:15-19
New King James Version
15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God,
16 and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan.
17 So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine?
18 Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?”
19 And He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.”
One man returned. Ten were healed, but one was made whole. Wholeness is found in gratitude.
Dear believer, look at what these sixty days have built in you. Greater hunger for the Word, deeper love for prayer, clearer discernment of God’s voice, renewed passion for the things of the Spirit. Every scripture you have studied, every day you fasted, every yielded prayer was a layer built in fellowship. Now we give thanks because we know this is only the beginning!
Philippians 1:6
New King James Version
6 Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.
He began this work. He will continue it.
As we close these sixty days, take time to remember moments of encounter and transformation. What has God taught you? What has He revealed about Himself? Write them down.
Prayer Point
Father, thank You for these sixty days. Thank you for strength in weariness, peace in my heart, and grace that sustained me. Thank You for every revelation, answered prayer, and moment that shaped me. As I give thanks, I receive grace to continue in consistency, to stay sensitive, and to walk from this place of communion.
