Dynamo
Luke 10:19
Many Christians are caught in the web of believing that some manifestations of the gifts of the Spirit are for a select few. They easily assume it is reserved for their pastors and spiritual leaders only, as they can’t imagine themselves exhibiting such traits. Is that true? Keep reading to find out.
The term Dynamo refers to an individual who carries power. This word is derived from the Greek word ‘Dynamis‘ which is the same word ‘Dunamis‘ is derived from. Other synonyms of the word Dynamo would be a live wire or fireball.
There is a story of a man who had sold all he had to buy a ticket for a boat cruise. Upon getting to the ship, he then began to slowly realise that he might have to starve through the journey because he had no money left to purchase food.
The first day passed, the second day passed, and on the third day, he decided to take his chances, walk into any restaurant, and eat to his full regardless of what his fate might be.
The man finished eating and began to approach the door of the restaurant, and to his amazement, no one stopped him. He was so bewildered, he turned back and walked up to the waitress to confess his sins but the waitress chucked lightly and said, his ticket was for an all-expense paid trip. This meant he had access to food from the very first day he got on that boat cruise.
See what ignorance does? This is what makes many believers ineffective even though they are so powerful.
Now how does authority come? First, you must know that if it took faith to get you saved, it will also take faith to fully appropriate the provisions that Christ has given to you. If you have enough faith to believe, then you have enough faith to walk in authority.
The theology that gets you saved is the same theology that works for your authority in Christ Jesus. The same faith that it took you to believe in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus is the same faith you need to believe that you can raise a man from the dead.
If you learn about your authority in Christ today and still don’t believe it, you will never truly be able to walk in it.
Ephesians 1:3
New King James Version
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,
This should stir you up! The Bible says that we have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places in Christ.
This shows you that every man in Christ has received all spiritual blessings, not a few but all of them. Halleluyah!
All that was appropriated to Christ when he resurrected is now at your disposal.
Ephesians 1:15-18
New King James Version
15 Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints,
16 do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers:
17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him,
18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,
This scripture shows us that there is a rich inheritance in God and Apostle Paul was praying for the church at Ephesus that they receive the wisdom and revelation that the Spirit gives that the eyes of their understanding may be enlightened for them to know what this rich inheritance is.
It was Apostle Paul’s earnest desire that the church in Ephesus knew what this rich inheritance in Christ is.
There is something great that the believer has in God and if the believer does not know what this rich inheritance is, he will constantly live at a disadvantage.
Ephesians 1:19-21
New King James Version
19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power
20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,
21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.
Apostle Paul is still praying for the church in Ephesus and he prays that they also know the exceeding greatness of God’s power towards those that believe.
You see, in this rich inheritance there is power and this power was wrought in Christ when God raised Him from the dead. When Jesus was raised from the dead, he was seated at the right hand of God.
The best way to read this verse is not to think of Jesus sitting at a literal right-hand side, instead think of the expression ‘A right-hand man’, which means every authority the original person has, a right-hand man has as well.
This means all power was wrought in Jesus and he was made to sit in the place of authority, in the heavenly places, far above all principalities and power and might and dominion.
Ephesians 2:5-6
New King James Version
5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
This is what happened to us at salvation! We used to be dead in trespasses and sins but God has raised us up together with Christ and now we are seated together with Christ in that same place of authority! Hallelujah!
This is who you are now. The same authority Jesus has, you now have! You are seated in heavenly places with Christ, above all principalities and powers, above all rulers of darkness.
The believer’s authority is a thing of position. Just because you are with Christ, all that has been made available to Christ has been made available to you. You are seated at the right hand of God in a place of power! You are a Dynamo.
Luke 10:19
New King James Version
19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Glory to Jesus! You have received authority to trample over the works of the enemy. The Bible says nothing shall by any means hurt you. This shows you that you don’t have to be scared of the plots of the enemy.
It is only if you can doubt the authority of Jesus that you should be able to doubt the authority that you have in Him. You have received power that is over all of the power of the enemy. It gets even better.
John 14:12
New King James Version
12 Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.
These are the words of Jesus. He says we would do even greater works. So if Jesus did so many unbelievable miracles, he says you would do much more. Hallelujah!
You must learn to receive this with all of your heart and believe that you can function in it. Learn to confess daily about the authority that you now have in Christ Jesus.
You are not allowed to be ignorant of your authority in Christ Jesus. Get conscious of it.
If Jesus said, you can heal the sick, your first instinct when encountering sick people should be to lay hands on them. Doing this shows that you recognise your authority in Christ. You have been blessed with every spiritual blessing, and it is time to act like it!
Prayer Point:
Thank you Father for the authority that I have in you. I thank you because, by the reason of your Spirit within me, I am full of power. I am conscious of this wherever I go.
