Have you ever had the privilege of hosting a party or an event? As the host, you invite people and are ready for them, but sometimes it feels like the energy in the room is low, and it takes some time for them to warm up and get into the flow of the event. Oftentimes, you may need to expend a lot of energy trying to get people to engage in whatever is going on, and this consumes the time meant for the event.

The same thing happens when God calls a meeting, and we show up unprepared. When God calls a meeting, it’s for a purpose. There is a furnishing He wants to give us and healings and miracles He wants to perform.

So, it raises the question, are you prepared? Or are you waiting for the second or third session of a special meeting before you start receiving what God has been offering since the first session? Why not show up ready?

Exodus 19:10-11
New King James Version
10 Then the LORD said to Moses, “Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their clothes. 11 And let them be ready for the third day. For on the third day the LORD will come down upon Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people.

Here, God was about to meet with the Children of Israel at Mount Sinai, and He told Moses to prepare them for His coming.
For them, preparation involved washing their clothes and some other ceremonial cleanings in the Jewish law, but for us, preparation would involve us praying and readying our hearts for what God has for us. It will involve us making the necessary arrangements to take some time away from our natural lives and focusing on God.

Throughout this week, we’re going to be looking at the things we can do to prepare for the camp meeting. Camp meetings are not just random meetings. They are times of refreshing from the Lord.

The first thing you can do in preparation for the camp meeting is pray.
In Scripture, right before every special event, there was a season of consecration and prayer.
We see it in the life of the disciples.
Acts 2:1-3
New King James Version
1 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.
3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them

On the Day of Pentecost, the disciples were gathered in one accord in one place when the Holy Spirit came upon them like a rushing mighty wind, filling the room and resting on each of them like tongues of fire. Before this, Jesus had told them to wait for the promised Holy Spirit, and they did not simply wait, doing nothing. They were praying.

Acts 1:13-14
New King James Version
13 And when they had entered, they went up into the upper room where they were staying: Peter, James, John, and Andrew; Philip and Thomas; Bartholomew and Matthew; James the son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot; and Judas the son of James.
14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.

The Bible says that the disciples had been continuously praying together in the upper room after Jesus told them to wait for the promise of the Holy Spirit. God had promised them something, and they weren’t sitting around waiting for it to happen. They responded by praying. They didn’t just pray once or twice; they prayed until they received what God had promised them. This is a pattern for what your life should look like as a believer. You must take time to pray before special meetings.

This camp meeting is a time of refreshing, a time of relief, recovery, restoration, and revival. In special meetings like this, you are assured of rejuvenation by the Spirit of God. The feeling is similar to what you would experience after drinking a bottle of cold water after a very long day, but the extent to which you can receive this refreshing is tied to how much you can be prepared for it.

God wants to equip you for more in this meeting, but you must be expectant and prepared to receive it, and prayer can help you stay expectant.
Praying towards a meeting like this will not only help you prepare, but it will also keep you sensitive. Prayer prepares your heart and sets it in the right posture for all that God is set to do.
Even if you feel cold and lack sensitivity, what prayer does is stir your heart up to sensitivity and help you prepare adequately.

Prayer Point
Dear Lord, as the Catalyst Camp 2026 draws near, I take time to intentionally prepare in the place of prayer. As I pray, I position myself to receive all you have for me, and nothing passes me by. I experience deep refreshing from the presence of the Lord.
