Ephesians 6:18

All through this week, we have looked into the realities of Christians around the world, including here in Nigeria. We have highlighted situations where believers face attacks, displacement, and even death in this country.

This isn’t just to fill you in on all the current headlines or to stir up emotions but you should realise the urgency that is needed in the place of prayer.

This news points out the need for intercessors: believers who will stand before God on behalf of others.
Going through history, we see that revival is always born through prayer. Great move of God began with intercessors who cried out to God.

We have also seen the biblical responsibility God places on us to intercede for those in authority, our leaders; for wisdom, righteous counsel, and the deliverance of all who are persecuted. There is a need for consistent intercession.

So this morning, we will put into practice all that we’ve been charged with. This morning, we raise our voices in prayer concerning all that we’ve spoken about this week.

James 5:16 says
New King James Version
16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

It says, “the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much”
The word “fervent” shows activeness, passion, prayer rooted in faith.
And in case you didn’t know, you are that man who is spoken about, and there is so much that can shift in the place of prayer; there is so much that can happen just because we gather to pray. Through fervent prayer, situations can change according to God’s will.

Romans 8:26-27 reminds us:
New King James Version
26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

God cares for His people, for those set apart in Christ. And we can find strength in the Spirit that dwells inside of us. As we stand in the gap for others, the Spirit bears the burdens with us.

You have learnt your role as a watchman, you have been taught the power of intercession, and the need for revival. Now is the time to take your position and pray.
This morning, you will pray with authority, you will pray over the nation, Nigeria:

For Deliverance From Wickedness:
2 Thessalonians 3:1-2 says
New King James Version
1 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you,

2 and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; for not all have faith.

Isaiah 54:17 says
New King James Version
17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD,
And their righteousness is from Me,”
Says the LORD.

Prayer Point
Father, today we pray that Nigeria be delivered from the hold of wickedness. We declare that the plans and schemes of the wicked over this nation fail. Let your light swallow every form of darkness in this land.

For Security And Peace:
Psalms 122:6-7
New King James Version
6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
“May they prosper who love you.

7 Peace be within your walls,
Prosperity within your palaces.”

Prayer Point
We declare peace over every city and state in this nation. Every violence and conflict is brought to an end, every evil vice begins to cease in our lands. Restore, comfort, and heal all who have suffered in any way.

For Spiritual Revival In Nigeria:
Habakkuk 2:14
New King James Version
14 For the earth will be filled
With the knowledge of the glory of the LORD,
As the waters cover the sea.

Prayer point
Lord, we declare that the knowledge of your glory fills Nigeria. Across every state, we witness a mighty move of God. The body of Christ remains united; there is no room for conflicts. Through our voices, young and old receive the word and encounter God in this nation.

For The Spread Of The Gospel:
Acts 4:29
New King James Version
29 Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word

2 Thessalonians 3:1
New King James Version
1 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you

Prayer Point
Father, we declare boldness upon believers across Nigeria. Through government, education, media, entertainment and every sector, we see the rapid spread of the gospel. As men go out with the word, they are protected and provided for.

Now, we will pray every nation and continent:
For Nations Hostile To The Gospel:
Colossians 4:3
New King James Version
3 meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains

Prayer Point
Lord, we pray for every Christian facing persecution globally. They receive strength and supernatural protection. Let governments align with your will, every hindrance to the spread of the gospel is removed and doors are open for the word!

For Nations In Crisis:
Prayer Point
Father, we pray for every nation and every state experiencing war, famine, natural disasters and oppressive leadership; your mercy overshadows them. We pray that you intervene and put an end to every injustice. Your children stand as lights against any form of darkness in these lands.

For Revival In Nations:
Just as we read previously in Habakkuk 2:14
New King James Version
14 For the earth will be filled
With the knowledge of the glory of the LORD,
As the waters cover the sea.

Prayer point
We see the glory of God cover the earth as waters cover the sea. We declare revival in the United States, the United Kingdom, and every Western nation. The gospel flourishes across Africa; prophecy is fulfilled. Every continent comes under the influence of the name of Jesus.

Ephesians 6:18
New King James Version
18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saint

Dear Watchmen, It doesn’t stop there!
The Bible calls us to pray always and remain watchful with supplication for all the saint!
Do not stop praying.
Take these prayer points to your workplace, classes, stores, and every other place, not just today but every other day.
This is a season of urgency; fast and pray with other believers if you need to.
Remember, you are that righteous man, and your fervent, consistent prayer makes great power available, bringing every situation to align with God’s will.
