Walking with Power: Boldness in Power
Acts 10:38
Over the past three days, we have explored the reality of our authority in Christ, the blueprint for walking in power, and the victory we have over the devil. We have seen that miracles are not a thing of the past, that our authority is rooted in Christ’s exaltation, and that Satan is already defeated!!
But knowledge alone will not change the world. It is not enough to be conscious of your authority if you never use it. Authority that remains a theological concept and is never acted upon will not set captives free.
And the world — broken, bound, and under the influence of darkness is waiting for a demonstration of the power you carry.
In Mark 16:17–18 (NKJV), Jesus says:
“And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
Notice that Jesus did not say, “These signs will follow pastors,” or “These signs will follow apostles.” He said, “those who believe.” That means you. That means now. And that means there should be tangible proof of Heaven’s backing in your daily life.
We live in a world where the forces of darkness are not hiding. In certain nations, witchcraft, occult, and open demonic oppression are practiced visibly. Many will not believe the gospel unless they see the demonstration of power of God and manifestations of the supernatural in front of their eyes. Just as in the days of the apostles, the gospel can be confirmed with signs and wonders (Hebrews 2:4).
Some people cannot receive the gospel because their minds are clouded and their wills are bound by demonic oppression.
2 Corinthians 4:4 tells us:
“The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel…”
Preaching alone, without the exercise of authority, will not break this bondage. The demons must be cast out; the power of darkness must be confronted and expelled for some men to be saved and free!
This is why Jesus coupled the message of salvation with miracles. He not only told people that the Kingdom had come — He showed them. The Bible says in:
Acts 10:38
New King James Version
38 God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.
If Jesus — full of the Spirit, the Son of God Himself still confronted the works of the devil with visible acts of power, how can we imagine that we can fulfill our mission without doing the same?
In Acts 4, the early church faced threats that could have silenced them. But instead of praying for safety, they prayed for boldness:
Acts 4:29–30
New King James Version
29 “Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word,
30 by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.”
And God answered:
Acts 4:31
New King James Version
31 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
Boldness is not arrogance.
It is not about drawing attention to yourself.
It is deep confidence that The One who sent you is backing you up. This confidence is so deep and so strong that you will lay hands on the sick in public, command demons to leave in the marketplace, and declare healing in the office without hesitation.
When believers remain silent or passive, darkness advances unhindered. Every space where your voice is absent and your authority is unused becomes ground the enemy will gladly occupy.
The devil thrives on intimidation and making you feel like you are not “anointed enough” or that “it’s not your place” to minister.
But the moment you step out in faith, you will find that the Spirit confirms your words with power. Remember that Matthew 5:14–15 says you are the light of the world, and no one lights a lamp only to hide it. Your light is meant to shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven.
Stay conscious of your authority and remember the truths from the previous days: you are seated with Christ. His victory is your victory. Be available. Look for opportunities to minister healing, deliverance, and encouragement in everyday places.
Speak up. Don’t water down the gospel or the authority of Jesus’ name to avoid offense. Act immediately!
When you sense the leading to pray for someone, do it on the spot. Don’t postpone obedience. And expect results, approach every situation expecting God to confirm His Word with signs following!
This is not a call for a few “special” Christians; this is your calling. You are not waiting for a stage, a title, or a ministry card. You already carry the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead.
The forces of darkness are not waiting to see if you will act; they are hoping you will not and are trying to cripple you with doubt/fear so that you won’t try. Break their expectation.
Step into every space knowing that Heaven’s power is with you, for you, and ready to flow through you.
Do not let fear dictate your actions.
Do not hide the power God has placed in you.
Let your boldness be the proof that Christ is alive and reigning through you!
Prayer Point
Father, I refuse to keep the power You have given me hidden. I step out in boldness today, ready to heal the sick, cast out devils, and declare Your Word with authority.
