Walking with Power: The Blueprint

Sometimes, as believers, we wonder why miracles seem distant or even non-existent in our lives today. We read stories of Peter’s shadow healing the sick or Paul raising the dead, and we think, “Those days are gone.” But what if that isn’t true? What if miracles have not ceased in our days, but are waiting for us to walk in the same power as the early church?

The Bible never says the supernatural power of God was only for the first century. On the contrary, Jesus said in

Mark 16:17-18
New King James Version
17 “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;

18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

Notice the present and future tense — “will follow those who believe.” Not just those who believed then, but you who believes now. The power to perform signs and wonders remains, waiting to be stirred up in your life.
So, how do you utilize this power? How did the men of old walk in such authority and see miracles happen around them regularly?

There is a blueprint!
A man of God once said “To see the things that they saw, we must do the things they did.” There is a pattern they followed that we must also adopt.

First, they had a deep consciousness of the authority they had in Christ!
The same authority Jesus had is the same authority that we have, because we are united with Him and seated with Him at the right hand of the Father.

The apostle Paul tells us in
Ephesians 1:19-20
New King James Version
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power

20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places.

That power—that same mighty power, is available to us today. Because we are in Christ, we share in His authority!

The theology that proves the authority of Jesus Christ is the very same theology that proves your authority. Jesus is exalted far above all principalities and powers (Philippians 2:9-11). Because of this exaltation, you are seated with Him and have access to His power and authority, and you must remain conscious of it.

Now that you know you have authority as a believer, there is more to exercising it.
The men who walked in this power also maintained a solid, fervent, and consistent prayer life. Prayer was their lifeline to the Father. This is how to stir up the power made available to you.

Luke 6:12
New King James Version
12 Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.

This was Jesus’ pattern: long nights of prayer. Not for show or ritual, but to remain connected, empowered, and aligned with the Father’s will. The results were evident when He would lay hands on the sick and raise the dead.
The early church followed this model. Their gatherings were marked by constant prayer and unity

Acts 1:14
New King James Version
14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.

Dear believer, miracles are not just random acts of God; they are a result of the gift of the Holy Spirit in you. Without knowledge of your authority and without a consistent prayer life, you will miss out on the miraculous.
Power cannot be wielded in ignorance because the enemy exploits what you do not understand.
This was so important that the Apostle Paul prayed for believers to grow in revelation knowledge — a deep understanding of who they are in Christ.

Ephesians 1:17
New King James Version
17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him

This knowledge is what sets you free to walk boldly in your inheritance.
Ignorance leaves you vulnerable to attacks and limits the manifestation of God’s power in your life. But knowledge and prayer equip you to face every challenge with confidence.

Remember, spiritual warfare is real, but it is fought on the basis of truth and authority and not from fear or superstition. You do not wrestle against flesh and blood but against principalities amd powers! (Ephesians 6:12).

The blueprint for power and authority is clear as believers:

  • Know who you are in Christ and the authority He has given you.
  • Pursue a deep, fervent prayer life that connects you to God’s power.

This is how Peter’s shadow healed the sick. This is how Paul raised the dead. This is how Jesus calmed storms and cast out demons.

This blueprint is yours.

Today, rise up in the consciousness of your authority. Stir up the power within you through persistent prayer and walk boldly in the supernatural.
The miracles of the Bible have not ceased. They will follow those who believe, you included.

Prayer Point
Father, I grow in revelation knowledge of who I am in Christ and the authority You have given me. From today, I begin to walk in the fullness of my inheritance and authority in you. I heal the sick, I raise the dead as I have been empowered by the Holy Spirit.
