What To Do After A Special Meeting 5
Hebrews 10:24-25
There is no doubt that the CLC was definitely a time of rejuvenation and a life changing experience for you. I’m sure you received an impartation and directions for the year 2024, words of prophecy were spoken over you and you definitely prayed for the new year. What a time you had!
Now that you have received all the receivables from the CLC for, what is next? Do you just sit and wait for every word spoken to be fulfilled, or do you hit the ground running? What do you do after a special meeting? We have spoken about recognising that you have received something, staying full of the spirit and bringing to remembrance all you have received. What else can you do to make sure your profiting is evident after a camp meeting.
Camp meetings typically involve long hours of prayer and study, as well as supplying to one another by the Spirit. After such a time, there’s a tendency for one to be laid back and undercompensate.
You may want to pull back on spiritual activities. After all, you prayed for 4 hours at a stretch! So it may look like a good idea to “rest” a bit. But in actual fact that is the opposite of what you should do. You don’t want to be caught lagging at all because in doing that, you give room for you to forget what you’ve received, to fall back into bad habits and to allow the devil deceive you into thinking if you have actually received anything.
If you say you attended a spiritual meeting, your life henceforth must show the results. Like we’ve been taught, you cannot say you were hit by a trailer and still be walking about like nothing happened. Nobody would believe you. The effects of a special meeting must be seen in your life. People must see that you have received something and desire what you have.
One way to ensure this is by being accountable. Scripture instructs believers to edify one another, to uphold one another in prayer and to open up to one another.
1 Thessalonians 5:11
New King James Version
11 Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.
Galatians 6:1
New King James Version
1 Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted.
The Bible says that if one of us is overtaken in a fault that we should restore such a one. This means that you don’t have to tackle your devotional goals alone. You can reach out to the brethren to help you see to it that all the words spoke over your life are fulfilled. If you struggle with consistency, accountability partners would help solve that issue.
Hebrews 10:24-25
New King James Version
24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works,
25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
The church is here to do life with you. We are to spur each other into good works, encourage each other, and challenge each other. So whenever you are finding it difficult to keep up with the structures you set or you find yourself forgetting the words that have been spoken over you, why not get accountable.
The church is God’s idea for our growth so when we forsake the gathering of believers, we expose ourselves to temptation from the devil. That’s why the writer of Hebrews instructs us to not forsake the assembly of the church.
This year don’t let yourself lag behind. Let the brethren uphold you. Open yourself up to the your brothers and sisters in Christ. Share your burdens. Remember sin thrives in secrecy if you find yourself overtaken in a habit get accountable.
Proverbs 27:17
King James Version
17 Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
This scripture uses the metaphor of iron to emphasise how we can help each other grow. Just like iron sharpens iron, you can sharpen your brother in Christ and vice versa. It is therefore our responsibility to sharpen one another.
This year commit to being accountable to church leaders as well as your brothers and sisters in the faith. Don’t suffer in silence. Don’t isolate yourself. Be present at the gathering of believers. Participate and watch yourself master consistency this year.
Prayer Point:
I declare that this year I am accountable. I give myself to strictures set for me, I recognize that the church is your strategy for my sustenance and I take advantage of it. I reach out when I need to and I don’t fall into isolation.
